Katie June

Katie June was born and raised in Queens, NY. She began singing at at the age of 4, and very quickly developed a love for music. Her love of music and singing only grew with age. She had the wonderful oppprtunity of attending LaGuardia High School of Music, Art & the Performing Arts in New York City and concentrated on Classical Vocal Performance. She graduated in 2007, however, she lacked confidence in her voice and performance technique. Katie went on to attend The City College of New York, where she gave up singing and planned to focus on creative writing. While in attendance, she took her first acting class as an elective and fell in love with performing all over again. After finishing her first year at CCNY, she took some time off from school to attend auditions, dance classes, and work shops, while performing in productions with the Bizairre Noir Theater Company and defeating her stage fright. In 2010, she decided to return to school and get a degree, and graduated from Five Towns College in 2013 with a BFA in Theater Arts. While there, she landed the roles of Agatha (The Children's Hour), Motormouth Maybelle (Hairspray!), Nat (Rabbit Hole), and Sophia (The Color Purple), and had the amazing opportunity to be in the Original Cast of a Children's Theater Production titled "Moey's Fairytale Adventure," written by Stewart Lane and his daughter, Leah. She earned two nominations to take part in competing at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF).

 

She is currently working on further developing her craft while attending auditions.
